Terms of use

By creating an account you agree to these terms. They are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Nothing here removes your statutory rights as a consumer.

You must be 18 or over. Keep your login details to yourself. One account per person. Tell us at andy@bluelightleavers.com if you think someone else has used your account.

The app gives career guidance, planning tools and AI assisted drafts. It is not legal advice, financial advice, pension advice, medical advice or employment law advice. Check anything that affects your pension, your service record or a formal process with a qualified adviser or your federation or union. We do not guarantee a job, an interview or any particular outcome.

Drafts are produced by an AI model from what you type. They can be wrong. Read everything before you send it and make sure it is true. You are responsible for the accuracy of anything you submit to an employer.

Do not put protectively marked material, live operational detail, or the personal data of third parties into the app. Do not share your account, resell the content, or try to break the service. We can suspend an account that does.

Membership is sold by subscription and billed in advance through Stripe. You choose monthly at £9.99 or twelve months at £79.99. All prices include VAT at the prevailing UK rate.

Every membership starts with a seven day free trial. You must give card details to start the trial. Nothing is taken during the seven days. At the end of the seventh day the subscription starts and the first payment is taken automatically, unless you cancel before then. You can cancel from the More tab at any point during the trial and you will not be charged.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and on the same cycle until you cancel. Cancel from the More tab. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund part periods except where the law requires it.

The founding member price is £59.99 for twelve months instead of £79.99. It is open to the first 500 subscribers, or until 30 September 2026, 23:59, whichever comes first. When either limit is reached the offer closes and standard pricing applies.

If you take the founding member price, you keep it at every renewal for as long as your subscription stays continuously active. It does not increase while you remain a member.

If you cancel, let the subscription lapse, or your payment fails and the subscription ends, the founding price ends with it. If you subscribe again afterwards you pay the standard price that applies at that time, even if the founding offer window is still open.

We may change our standard prices. Existing members get at least 30 days notice by email before a change affects them, and you can cancel before it takes effect. Founding members are not affected while their subscription stays continuously active.

You have a legal right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. This is separate from, and in addition to, the seven day free trial. The 14 days runs from the day you create the subscription, which is the day you start the trial, not the day the first payment is taken.

Because the trial is seven days, the statutory 14 day window is still open for a further seven days after your first payment. If you cancel in that time, tell us at andy@bluelightleavers.com and we will refund your first payment in full within 14 days, to the card you paid with.

When you start your trial you are asked to confirm that you want immediate access to the membership content, and that you understand you lose the statutory right to cancel once the content has been fully supplied. That confirmation applies to downloaded material such as the guides. It does not remove your right to cancel the subscription itself within the 14 days described in this section.

Paid services such as a professional CV, coaching or a programme also carry the 14 day right to cancel. If you ask us to begin within that period and then cancel, we charge for what was actually supplied up to the point you told us, in proportion to the full price. Where a written document has already been delivered in full, the right to cancel ends.

Refunds are made to the original payment method within 14 days of us being told you are cancelling. You do not have to use a particular form of words. An email to andy@bluelightleavers.com saying you want to cancel is enough.

If something is wrong with what you have bought, tell us. We will put it right, and that does not affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Some services offered through this app are delivered by other companies, not by Blue Light Leavers.

CV writing, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles and the associated packages are delivered by CK Futures Ltd. Career Finder work is delivered by CVIA Ltd.

Where you buy or enquire about those services after being referred from this app, Blue Light Leavers receives a commission from CK Futures Ltd or CVIA Ltd. This does not change the price you pay.

The contract for those services is between you and the company delivering them. Their terms, their privacy notice and their complaints process apply. Blue Light Leavers is not responsible for the delivery, quality or timing of work carried out by them, although we will help if something goes wrong. Tell us at andy@bluelightleavers.com.

We only refer to companies we would use ourselves. Charlotte Spencer of CK Futures has worked with Blue Light Leavers since 2017.

What you write stays yours. You give us permission to process it so the app can work. Our guides, plan content, prompts and designs stay ours and are for your personal use only.

We do not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Beyond that, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for loss of earnings or loss of opportunity.

We may update these terms and will post the date at the top. Complaints go to andy@bluelightleavers.com and we aim to reply within five working days.
